1. St Michaels
   Tucked off the beaten path down a peninsula heading toward the bay and Tilghman Island, St. Michaels has long been known by yachtsmen and by affluent retirees who settled here for watery pleasures and a slower pace not far from the big cities. But it has really been discovered only in the last decade or so. Large new inns have emerged, trendy restaurants and shops have opened, and waterfront properties now sell at a premium.
2. Assateague/Chincoteague
   Chincoteague Island is one of the many and perhaps the most beautiful island that dots the Eastern Shore. World famous for its oyster beds and clam shoals, this picturesque island is the gateway to Assateague Island National Seashore.
3. Druid Hill
   The park consists of a series of rolling hills, a reservoir and the Baltimore Zoo. Chock full of runners, cyclists and weirdos, the park is primarily seasonal -- crowded in the summer and empty the rest of the year. There are paved paths and grassy knolls, and most of the park is shaded by large, leafy trees.
4. Picturesque Annapolis

5. The Inner Harbor - Top of the World
   The Top Of The World Observation Level, on the 27th floor of the World Trade Center, offers a breathtaking overview of the city.
6. The Inner Harbor - National Aquarium
   Walk amongst the denizens of the deep at the National Aquarium and watch the amazingly acrobatic dolphins at the Marine Mammal Pavilion.
7. The Inner Harbor - USS Constellation
   Climb aboard the 145-year-old USS Constellation, the last all-sail sloop-of-war built by the U.S. Navy.
8. The Inner Harbor - Fells Point
   How about a sunset trip on a water taxi to Fells Point, a working waterfront community that captures the spirit of seaport life in the 1800s. While strolling the cobblestone streets lined with shops, choose a water-view restaurant for your evening meal.
9. Appalachian Hills
   This frontier region is where you'll find Backbone Mountain, the highest mountain in the state, which is 3,360 feet tall. Near the town of McHenry is Deep Creek Lake, the state's largest manmade lake, and Wisp, a popular ski resort. All over the county, there are state parks and forests with beautiful foliage, waterfalls and lakes for travelers to explore.
